Mikael Lustig: Admits Celtic players are tired after a long season

Neil Lennon's team go into the Hampden showpiece hoping to secure a domestic double in what will be their 59th competitive game of the campaign.

The Hoops will return to competitive action in July when they play in the opening round of the Champions League qualifiers, as they attempt to repeat this season's run to the last 16 of the competition.

Lustig said: "We know there is a lot of games involved and you have to try and be alert in your head.

"The manager has given a few of the boys time off and that was the right move. We need to have a rest mentally, time to not think about football.

"Some of the boys will only get three weeks off and then it will be 11 months of football again. That's a lot.

"I'm away with Sweden after the cup final. We play Austria away and the Faroe Islands at home in the World Cup qualifiers. It's another three weeks before I can rest but hopefully I can handle that.

"Hopefully we will have a strong squad next year so I don't think I will have to play 60 or 70 games next year."

ow is the time for Allardyce to finally get a chance at a big club please. He is likely to have a number of great offers for his services this summer, but who will he choose? Will it be Liverpool, Real Madrid, Dortmund or Man City?
