Gary Hooper: Top of Steve Bruce's transfer targets

Tigers boss Steve Bruce is determined to land the highly-rated 25-year-old, who was the subject of keen interest from Norwich in January.

Norwich manager Chris Hughton had four separate offers rejected by Celtic, but he is believed to be considering another bid for Hooper over the summer.

However, Hughton will not be willing to pay over the odds having already signed Dutch forward Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Hooper has one year remaining on his contract with Celtic, but he has not agreed terms on an extension to his deal and is believed to be keen to move south of the border to boost his hopes of an England call-up.

He has also been linked with relegated Reading, whose manager Nigel Adkins was Hooper's boss at Scunthorpe between 2008 and 2010.

icky van Wolfswinkel's remarkable record of one goal from one game at least deserves an honourable mention. And I'm willing to bet that at least one of Costa, Ulloa or Enner Valencia will earn a place on the list by the end of the season. Probably not Costa
