Having netted seven times in the Cup against Hearts on Sunday, Celtic scored five without reply in the league at Fir Park on Friday night to move eight points clear at the top of the Premiership.

"I'm delighted. The quality of football was a very high level. Some of the players have really hit top form," he said. "We started the game very well, second half I thought we were fantastic.

"We were a little bit wayward in front of goal for my liking, I'd have liked to have seen the game finished off a lot earlier, but we played very well."

Kris Commons took his tally to five in the last two games with a predatory brace, and Lennon added: "There's more to come from him in terms of his general play, but as a goalscorer and value for money, he's been one of my best signings.

"He's one of the best we've had a the club for a long time - a sensational player and long may it continue."

Efe Ambrose scored his first goal of the season to make it 2-0, and he dedicated his thumping header to a new family member.

"For me it was a special day," said the Nigeria defender. "God blessed me with a child and before the game I said I was going to get a goal for her. And thanks to God and my team-mates, I was able to do that."

Lennon revealed there was no chance of Ambrose missing the game, despite his lack of sleep, adding: "He has tunnel vision when it comes to his football.

"He is a fantastic professional, one of the best I have ever worked with. He is low maintenance, he is never injured and trains every day."

Motherwell manager Stuart McCall added: "We won't be up against a side like that many times this season. That's probably as strong as they can be.

"When you play Celtic, we need to be at our best and they need to be under it. It was vice-versa. We were under our best form and they were certainly at the top of their game."

All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
