Darren Cole: Signed new Ibrox deal

The young defender spent more than three months on the sidelines last season following reconstructive ankle surgery.

But he made a comeback before the end of the campaign having finally overcome the problem which plagued him for most of 2012/13.

Edinburgh-born Cole made his debut as an 18-year-old in the 1-1 Champions League draw with Bursaspor in Turkey back in December 2010.

But he had to wait until just under seven months ago for his next Gers outing when, following a loan spell at Partick in the first half of 2012.

Cole featured in a Scottish Cup tie with Elgin and made three more appearances last term including one in the final fixture with Berwick at Ibrox on May 4.

The 21-year-old defender can play either centrally or on the right and was part of the senior pool which reported to Murray Park for pre-season training on June 24.
