Ross Perry: Facing spell out

The centre back damaged ankle ligaments in the 2-0 friendly win at Brora Rangers and is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

Perry, who came on as a half-time substitute at Dudgeon Park suffered the injury in a collision with Ryan Watson and was carried from the pitch on a stretcher.

In a statement on their official website, Rangers said the 23-year-old had been 'ruled out for the foreseeable future'.

It added: "At present, the Rangers management are resigned to being without him for weeks rather than days and that's a huge setback for manager Ally McCoist."

The Highlands friendly gave McCoist the chance to run the rule over defender Bilel Mohsni who was representing the third division champions as a trialist.

The former Southend defender impressed the watching backroom staff and McCoist is keen to finalise a deal to take him to Ibrox.

Speaking on Sky Sports News he said: "I was very impressed with him actually. I thought he came in and looked solid with Emilson Cribari at the back and they mopped everything up that came their way.

"With the injury to Ross, we put him back on in the second half and he was very comfortable.

"He's a strong boy, he can handle the physical side of the game and there is certainly a physical aspect to the Scottish game.

"That won't be a problem for him - he will handle that fine."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
