The 33-year old is available on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at the Britannia Stadium earlier this summer.

Sidibe's final years as a Stoke player were plagued by injury, although he spent the majority of last season out on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Tranmere Rovers.

The Mali international, who joined from Gillingham in 2005, spent eight years as a Stoke player, scoring 26 goals in the process.

Rangers have had a number of players on trial already this summer, notably former Sheffield United and Motherwell midfielder Nicky Law, as manager Ally McCoist prepares for the forthcoming season following his side's promotion from the Third Division.
