Derek McInnes: Oversaw victory over Inverness during unbeaten September

McInnes' side registered two wins and a draw in the league during last month, becoming the first this season to beat then-leaders Inverness.

And Aberdeen head into the international break in fourth place despite a weekend defeat at Ross County.

McInnes told Sky Sports News: "It was a good month. We showed consistency of performance and got good results within that.

"We just want to keep building on that, show that same consistency over a period of time and it'll get us where we want to be.

"Obviously Inverness came to our place in fine form, and it was always going to be a big game for us, but I think any victory you get in this league is always hard-fought.

"I've been pleased we've been in top six since start of season and we want to try to hang about there and push on if we can."

Aberdeen's progress could be hampered by the loss of striker Josh Magennis, who has pulled out of Northern Ireland duty this week with a knee injury.

McInnes said: "He's seeing a specialist and that will determine what happens.

"We anticipate some surgery might need to be done, but it'll be very minor and hopefully he'll be back with us in not too long."

he uber commercialisation of the 90s has led to the point where this overly familar, try hard, jolly hockey sticks type fronts up a major football match on a weekly basis. Unlike the great presenters of yesteryear, I doubt he would even recognise the scent of Brut.

onfirmed. Nick Miller is a douche bag. Lazy, incoherent rant is what this article should be titled. And for the editor to have the temerity to pass this as acceptable writing is shocking. Ah well, anything for clicks right? You got mine. Well done. Your mother must be proud.
