Robbo backing Hearts strikers

Hearts legend John Robertson believes his old side are capable of ending Fraser Forster's hopes of setting a new shut-out record when the Jambos face Celtic in front of the Sky Sports cameras at Tynecastle on Saturday.

England international keeper Forster is just 31 minutes short of Bobby Clark's 43-year-old mark of 1,155 minutes, which he set with Aberdeen during the 1970-71 season.

Hearts' all-time leading scorer Robertson, who scored 214 goals in 512 games during two spells with the club, said: "There is an extra incentive on Saturday of ending Fraser Forster's record.

"For him to go 12 games is a marvellous achievement, not just for himself but the whole Celtic defence. But one thing's for sure, these lads here will be going out on Saturday, not just to stop him achieving that record, but to help win the game for Hearts."

Despite Hearts boasting the lowest goals tally in Scotland's top flight - just 22 in 26 games - Robertson is convinced the work put in on the training ground will help their cause come Saturday.

Speaking to Sky Sports News Robertson, who himself ended a clean-sheet run when scoring against Rangers keeper Chris Woods after he had gone 1,096 minutes without conceding, said: "There is a natural instinct to scoring goals.

"It is an art which is born inside you, an instinct and willingness to score goals... but it can be improved on.

"It's all about belief, and you have to have it. All the top strikers in any league will tell you it's about the belief."

Watch Hearts entertain Celtic live from Tynecastle at 12.30pm on Sky Sports 2HD this Saturday.
