Curtis Good: Loan switch has helped to earn him international recognition

The 20-year-old defender linked up with the Scottish Premiership outfit on transfer deadline day, with parent club Newcastle United happy for him to go and get games elsewhere.

Good has impressed during his short time at Tannadice, earning him a first call-up to the senior Australian squad for a friendly date with Ecuador.

That contest provides the last opportunity for World Cup hopefuls to catch the eye before coach Ange Postecoglou names his squad for Brazil.

Good is delighted to be in contention for a seat on the plane, with the opportunity to head out on loan again having arrived at just the right time.

The youngster said in the Daily Record: "It has been important I've been playing regular games for United.

"My aim before coming up here was to play week in, week out and I knew I would get that opportunity here. So the loan deal has turned out really well for me, to say the least.

"I knew other Australians like Craig Moore, Scott McDonald and Patrick Kisnorbo came to Scotland, did well and then played for the national team.

"Now I'm delighted to have been picked for my country because when you start playing football as a kid that's what you dream of. It's a big thrill.

"It's also good timing because it's a great chance to impress the coach before the World Cup. I've been trying hard not to get too excited about it but it hasn't been easy.

"Brazil is a long way away yet but it would be great if it could happen for me."

put Ince in my fantasy football team, so it's no surprise at all really. I do that to players. Also responsible for De Jong and Upson being injured. Think I'll transfer in Di Maria just to ruin United....
