Manager John Hughes will need to call upon the defender for the League Cup final against Aberdeen next weekend as Gary Warren is suspended for that game.
"It's a possibility we're looking at because Danny 100 per cent needs game time," he said. "That's why we brought him on against Celtic on Sunday. Hopefully Danny will be able to put down a marker and I know he's more than good enough to be in the team."
The 21-year-old, who has had just three starts this season, told the Inverness Courier: "I have had to wait a long time for the opportunity because of how well Gary and Josh Meekings have been playing, but I definitely want to play.
"I don't feel too bad when I've been playing but it's always useful going into a game like the cup final and having minutes under your belt. Playing in games is always better than just training.
Aside from Ross Draper, Hughes has a full squad to choose from with Aaron Doran now having recovered fully from a groin problem.
Dundee United will again be without Ryan Gauld and John Souttar for the visit to the capital of the Highlands; the latter has an Achilles problem while Gauld has a back injury.
United manager Jackie McNamara said: "It's just coming too soon for them so they won't be involved on Sunday."
On-loan defender Curtis Good will be given a late test after he was forced off on his debut for Australia with a hip injury during the week.
United lost 2-1 at Inverness in an ill-tempered League Cup quarter-final in October when Nadir Ciftci was sent off after a mass brawl.
