Stuart McCall: "Room for improvement"

Stuart McCall: "Room for improvement"

First-half goals from James McFadden and Chris Humphrey sealed the Steelmen's status as the second-best side in the league but McCall was not simply content with the three points.

"I am happy to sign off with a win but we still have disappointed lads in there because that's the least impressive we have been, probably since Christmas and that's the standards we have set ourselves," McCall said.

"The perfectionist in me would have liked us to play better but it was a victory.

"I was pleased for (departing keeper) Darren Randolph to finish with a clean sheet.

"Chris Humphrey was the difference with the two goals, he broke fantastically well for both of them.

"But I am so proud of them all. The lads went round the pitch with their families at the end and they deserve all the plaudits."

Inverness and St Johnstone will fight it out for the final European spot and McCall, whose side host the Saints next week, said his side would not take their foot off the gas.

He said: "There is one more game left and there is a lot to play for with St Johnstone going for that European place.

"No doubt Terry (Butcher, Inverness boss) will be on to me, making sure we play a full-strength team.

"Obviously we want to win and we want to get into double figures for away wins, we have nine already so we have an aim as well."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
