Ariel Jacobs: New manager of Valenciennes

The 60-year-old replaces Daniel Sanchez, who was sacked last week with the club bottom of the Ligue 1 table thanks to a run of seven defeats in eight games.

A statement published on va-fc.com read: "After ending their collaboration with Daniel Sanchez, VAFC have decided to entrust the job to Ariel Jacobs.

"The coach has won the Belgian championship twice with Anderlecht and won the Danish championship with FC Copenhagen last season.

"He joins VAFC for two seasons (plus the option of a further year) and will be presented to the press later (on Monday morning)."

I

think all those names linked to United exits make sense. Kagawa has never really looked like hitting the form he had at Dortmund and Fellaini is radioactive after last season (even though I think he's been unfairly singled out for criticism). Nani and Anderson have had more than their fair share of chances so they are done, and Hernandez deserves better than warming a bench.
