The former West Ham, Toulouse and St Etienne player was returning from an injury to his right thigh but damaged his left in Friday's match, Rennes announced on their website.

The 31-year-old had to be replaced during the first half of the match Rennes lost 2-0, with Onyekachi Apam taking his place in the centre of defence.

Rennes are waiting to learn the severity of an ankle injury sustained by Sadio Diallo in the same match.
