Yohan Cabaye: Says PSG achieved their CL objective

Yohan Cabaye: Says PSG achieved their CL objective

Current leaders Paris Saint Germain take on St Etienne on Sunday night knowing they have the safety of an eight-point cushion over second-ranked Monaco.

That could be extended even further as Monaco travel to Lyon on the same day for a tough-looking test.

PSG will not be short on confidence either. They have lost just once in the league all season and in midweek booked their place in the last eight of the Champions League.

"We reached our objective, although not everything was perfect," midfielder Yohan Cabaye said.

"We are still in the competition and we have to continue building on this foundation."

St Etienne's task is not an enviable one but they need the points for the pursuit of the Champions League places.

Les Verts trail Lille by four points and time is starting to run out but they head to the capital knowing they won there in the league only last season.

"It is a game where we have nothing to lose," midfielder Loic Perrin said.

"We want to compete with players in the world's top 10 and I hope we can repeat last year's performance."

Should Monaco slip up at Lyon then Lille are eyeing up second spot.

The difference between the two currently stands at seven points but Lille are at home to Nantes on Saturday and can pile on some pressure.

"Nantes are always dangerous and they have nothing to lose," Lille's Nolan Roux told the media ahead of the clash.

"We are at home and must try and take control, but Nantes have proved their quality.

"A victory for us could make a huge difference. It is our journey to continue up the standings and it would be a nice reward for us this weekend."

In amongst the other games this weekend bottom side Ajaccio host Guingamp. They are currently 15 points adrift of safety and their chances are running out by the weekend.

Evian are the side they are chasing and they are at home to Valenciennes, while Nice and Bastia square-off.

Rennes clash with Toulouse, Sochaux meet Lorient and on Sunday Montpellier and Bordeaux meet in a mid-table tussle.

m only commenting on this (I don't care about Liverpool) because F365's twitter said I had call Matt Stanger a tw*t (which I don't agree with anyway) but I just wanted to be the first. Am I the first?

Trial And Error Rather Than Transition

S

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.
