PSG: Have extended their shirt sponsorship deal with Emirates

A five-year elongation of the existing deal, running to the end of the 2018-19 season, was announced by the French Ligue 1 champions this morning at a press conference.

Sports newspaper L'Equipe reported the deal to be worth 25 million euros (£21.1million) per season, unprecedented figures for French football and placing PSG in Europe's big league for sponsorship contracts.

PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi said: "This agreement reinforces the strong link that has developed between Paris Saint-Germain and Emirates, and gives each partner the chance to ensure the visibility of its brand in the whole world, by simultaneously reinforcing each other's image thanks to the worldwide presence."

lassic management. Build them up and then knock them back. Raise expectations and then dampen them. Create a dynamic where by you demand the most from your team, but where the team are given room to manoeuvre unexpected or unwanted results. Classy work by Van Gaal, he really reminds me a lot of me. A smart cookie, make no doubt.
