Blanc happy with late PSG win

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc declared himself very satisfied with his team's 2-0 victory over Guingamp on Saturday, despite needing two stoppage-time goals to pick up the points.

Laurent Blanc: Praised his players' attitude

Blanc's position has already come under scrutiny after PSG's stuttering start to the season, drawing with Montpellier and Ajaccio, and they left it late to sink their recently-promoted visitors at the Parc des Princes.

Last-gasp strikes from Adrien Rabiot and Zlatan Ibrahimovic eventually secured the home win, with Blanc insisting afterwards that he was content with the display.

"We're very happy and very satisfied," the former France boss said on www.psg.fr. "You just had to see in the changing room at the end of the match to see how much it meant to the players.

"It was a very tough game and the win came very late on. We never gave up, we never lost hope.

"The players got their reward so they should be congratulated. Of course, certain things can still be improved upon, but in terms of the points, it is a good night."

The capital club almost made the perfect start just a few minutes in when Ibrahimovic struck the post direct from a free-kick with Guingamp goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa soundly beaten, and the Sweden captain reckons it would have been a much more comfortable evening had that gone in.

"This was a very important victory," he said. "We wanted to score and we wanted to win.

"I think if my free-kick had gone in right at the start of the match, then it would have been a totally different match.

"In the end, we scored two goals in stoppage time and that's great. Little by little we are getting into our rhythm and, with time, we will find the key to making the breakthrough earlier and that will make everything much simpler.

"But, until then, winning is still the most important thing. I'm very happy to have scored my first goal (of the season). It's good for the team and for the confidence. We will keep on going now and try to do even better."

onfirmed. Nick Miller is a douche bag. Lazy, incoherent rant is what this article should be titled. And for the editor to have the temerity to pass this as acceptable writing is shocking. Ah well, anything for clicks right? You got mine. Well done. Your mother must be proud.
