Omar Abdulrahman: Linked with move to Europe

The 21 year-old is one of Asia's best young talents and following his 'Player of the Tournament' showing in UAE's triumphant Gulf Cup of Nations run, a host of top European clubs are lining up to sign the mercurial playmaker.

Although playing in Europe is a dream of his, Abdulrahman is committed to Al Ain and the decision to move abroad will be taken by the club.

"It is the dream of all football players in the world to play professionally in Europe, but I cannot decide that because I have a contract with Al Ain and I am sure they will take the right decision that will benefit all parties - me, the club and the national team," he told Gulf News.

"I am playing in Al Ain and it is a big club that everyone dreams of playing for, but playing in Europe will be a totally different experience, which will sure help me to progress and develop as a footballer. But I am not the one to take the decision."

Abdulrahman impressed during a trial stint with Manchester City last summer but a transfer did not transpire due to the difficulty of obtaining a work permit.

Since then, Arsenal and Barcelona have reportedly shown interest in the gfted No.10 but it is expected he will remain in the UAE until the end of next season.
