Spain left-back Jordi Alba is to return to Barcelona after suffering a hamstring injury in Friday's World Cup qualifying draw with Finland, his club have confirmed.

Jordi Alba: Has returned to Barcelona after suffering an injury

Alba will undergo tests on a right hamstring injury suffered in the 1-1 draw, which is set to rule him out of Tuesday's Group I meeting with France in Madrid.

A Barcelona statement read: "Jordi Alba will return to Barcelona to undergo tests by the club's medical services after he picked up an injury to his right hamstring during the Spain-Finland match.

"Barcelona will reveal the extent of the player's injury on Sunday."
