Marquinhos: Attracting interest from Barcelona

Marquinhos: Attracting interest from Barcelona

Marquinhos has established himself as one of the best young defenders in Europe after impressing at Roma over the last 12 months.

Barcelona are thought to be keeping tabs on the 19-year-old Brazilian as they continue their search for a new central defender.

Marquinhos' agent, Roberto Calenda, is not surprised if there is interest in his client, but says he remains committed to Roma.

"The interest of Barcelona? He is a Roma player and he remains at Rome," Calenda to Radio Sportiva.

"It is inevitable that there are interests for a player so young and already regular in an important team.

"He still has a four-year contract with Roma and then I would not do fantasy flights."
