Cristian Tello: The talented Spanish forward seems happy to have to compete with

The 21-year-old was linked with a move to the Premier League during the summer until he signed a new contract with the Catalan club at the start of August.

Increasing his release clause to €25 million and extending his deal to the end of the 2017/18 season appears to have put off potential suitors for Tello for the moment.

The Sabadell-born player, who has played for his country at all youth levels, played 34 times for Barca last season but is likely to understudy Neymar following the Brazilian's recent arrival at the Nou Camp.

But despite the competition for places and the interest from overseas, Tello appears determined to prove himself at the La Liga champions.

"I always wanted to stay at Barca," he declared. "The coach has confidence in me, I am content there and ready to play a lot of minutes.

"I feel better than in previous years. I knew that Liverpool were interested in me, but I never planned to leave."

t's wrong to be making a joke out of Bender's name at the expense of gay people. It's the kind of childish, uncivilised thing that Football365 would deride and ridicule if it was another media outlet saying. Why is there a need for jokes like this? Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
