Real doesn't interest Verratti

Paris St Germain midfielder Marco Verratti says he has no intention of following Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid should the Italian coach be named as Jose Mourinho's successor at the Bernabeu.

Marco Verratti: Not interested in joining Real Madrid

Ancelotti has been strongly linked with the Spanish side after leading PSG to the Ligue 1 title last season and media have already begun speculating about which players could join him in the Spanish capital.

Italy international Verratti, 20, earned widespread acclaim for his accomplished displays for the French champions last season and has been touted as a likely target for Ancelotti, but the player insists his future is at the Parc des Princes.

"I saw that Ancelotti was perhaps going to Real. If this is the case, I'm happy for him because this is a very big club," Verratti told Rai.

"But my future is not tied to that of the coach.

"I am very happy in Paris and I want to stay at PSG."

However, Verratti's agent Donato di Campli is happy that clubs of Madrid's stature are linked with his client.

"Verratti is no longer the player who arrived from Pescara," Di Campli told Sport Mediaset.

"It is pleasing to know that Marco is being followed by great clubs such as Real."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
