Carlo Ancelotti: Takes Real to Elche on Wednesday night

The world's most expensive player, an £86m summer signing from Tottenham, has been ruled out with a thigh injury he suffered in the warm-up prior to last weekend's match against Getafe.

Real manager Carlo Ancelotti expects Bale to be fit for the Madrid derby on Saturday but is firmly focused on the challenge posed by last year's Segunda Division champions.

"It will not be easy," he said. "Every match, before the game you have to stay focused, stay concentrated.

"Of course we have to consider that we have more quality but if we don't use the same motivation, the same character of the opposing team, it will be difficult.

"Bale trained apart from the rest of the squad and I think he will be ready for Saturday no problem,"

"He won't be available tomorrow but we have time to train with him to prepare him well for Saturday."

You can watch Elche v Real Madrid live on Sky Sports 3 HD at 8.55pm - and the Madrid derby is also live on Saturday night, on Sky Sports 2 HD at 9pm.

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
