Ramires: Has no desire to leave Chelsea any time soon

Speculation continues to suggest that former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is planning a raid on the Stamford Bridge ranks for one of their most consistent performers.

It is easy to see why Real would want Ramires, with the Brazil international having become a key figure for Chelsea during his three years in west London - which have brought over 150 appearances.

The 26-year-old is, however, tied to a contract with the Premier League outfit and maintains that any move would be driven by Chelsea's desire to sell, rather than his desire to leave.

Ramires told Sambafoot: "I see the interest of Real Madrid as recognition of my good work in Europe, but I'm under contract with Chelsea and it would be unethical of me to comment.

"For the moment, these are only rumours.

"I am very happy here. I am respected and part of the club's history.

"If I leave, Chelsea would have to make the decision. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and I have realised my dream here."

Admiration

While reluctant to speculate on what the immediate future may hold, Ramires admits that he is planning on returning to his homeland with Cruzeiro at some stage, with the club having helped to launch what has become a distinguished career.

He added: "Everyone knows my admiration for Cruzeiro. Along with Joinville (another former club), they are my favourite team in Brazil.

"I watch their games from London and the team has played very well this season. I hope it will continue like that.

"I hope to wear the new Cruzeiro jersey before ending my career."

Before then, Ramires faces domestic and international challenges, with Chelsea looking to reclaim the Premier League title and Brazil readying itself for a home World Cup in 2014.

On competing for major honours, Ramires said: "The Premier League is one of the toughest competitions in the world. I can only say that we have the means to win. Our team is strong and we can win it all this season.

"Winning the Champions League was one of the greatest moments in my career. I think the only title that can compete with that is the World Cup in Brazil."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
