The Argentinian striker suffered a cruciate knee injury in the early minutes of Inter's Europa League game against Cluj on Thursday, and is expected to be out for around nine months.
However, rather than dwell on the severity of the injury, Stramaccioni has instead focused on the positives, insisting that Milito remains a part of his plans for next season.
"Not only are we with him, but we are waiting on him," Stramaccioni said.
"I can't see next year's Inter without him."
Inter's website stated that the striker had undergone surgery following the injury, the results of which had been positive.
