Massimo Moratti: Inter president would not be drawn on reports he is set to sell

Moratti has admitted holding talks with businessman Erick Thohir over a significant investment in the Serie A club, who are eager to build a new stadium before leaving the San Siro, but reports in Italy suggest the Indonesian could spend up to 300million euros to acquire 75 per cent of Moratti's controlling stake.

Oil tycoon Moratti, who has served as Inter president since 1995, would welcome any investment that helped strengthen and modernise the club, but he told Gazetta dello Sport reporters they knew more than him about any imminent transferral of power.

Quoted on inter.it, he said: "I was informed about (the stories) and I read them myself this morning. I keep learning about what's going on thanks to the newspapers."

An inquiry as to whether a conclusive meeting with Thohir would take place this week received short shrift, as Moratti simply replied: "No."

Thohir amassed much of his fortune in the newspaper industry and bought Major League Soccer outfit DC United in 2012.

resumably, you wanted to keep the version of Downing that was never seen at Anfield. The one that another manager has managed to re-create. The one you passed over.
