Roma beat Bologna 5-0 last weekend to make it six straight victories and climb

two points clear of Juventus and Napoli at the top of Serie A.

The Giallorossi boast the best attack and defence in the competition with 17

goals scored and one conceded - numbers that have seen their rivals consider

Roma as serious scudetto contenders.

"Roma are in fantastic form,'' Ranocchia said to www.inter.it.

"I'm not surprised to see them lead the table. They have a great team and can

do very well this season.

"But we are working hard to prepare this game in the best possible way and we are confident we can come out triumphant.''

Inter, coached by Walter Mazzarri, are also unbeaten and trail four points

behind Roma.

A win for Roma could see them extend their advantage over Italian champions

Juventus, who take on AC Milan in Turin 24 hours later.

The Bianconeri go into the contest on the back of Wednesday's disappointing 2-2 draw with Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The result followed their 1-1 draw at FC Copenhagen and left Juve still

searching for their first success in Europe this season.

Milan, meanwhile, drew 1-1 at Ajax to remain on course to qualify for the

knockout round of the competition.

Napoli were also involved in European football this week and suffered their

first loss of the campaign at the hands of Arsenal on Tuesday.

The Azzurri are hoping that Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain will shake off a

calf injury in time for Sunday's game against Livorno having missed his team's

2-0 defeat in London.

Lazio take on Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico with the Biancoceleste having

won all of their home games so far.

Sampdoria coach Delio Rossi will be under pressure heading into Sunday's game against Torino with his side having mustered just two points this season.

Catania coach Rolando Maran is hoping his team will build on last weekend's 2-0 triumph over Chievo - their first success this season - when it hosts strugglers Genoa.

Genoa re-appointed coach Gian Piero Gasperini this week after parting company with Fabio Liverani.

Chievo expect to end the rot when they take on Atalanta in Verona on Saturday.

The Flying Donkeys fell 2-0 at Catania in the last round to concede their second successive loss.

Hellas Verona square off against Bologna on Sunday looking for their first

triumph on the road this term.

Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin had demanded both a win and a huge improvement from his players when they welcome Cagliari to the Friuli stadium.

Guidolin was fuming after last Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Atalanta - Udinese's

third loss on the road this season.

Parma can expect a tough test when they face bottom-side Sassuolo at the

Tardini stadium.

The promoted outfit held Lazio to a 2-2 draw last weekend having previously

taken a valuable point at Napoli.

I

m not sure about this distance covered malarky, plus that stat comes with *since February attached to it, that's just 1 month. I mean I have 27 open cases I'm 'working on' at the moment but believe me others with 10 cases work harder than I do. I just got back from a pub lunch, scampi and chips (+4 pints) in case you were wondering.
