Vladimir Petkovic: Staying at Lazio

Petkovic is reportedly considered the number one candidate to replace Ottmar Hitzfeld as coach of Switzerland after next year's World Cup.

The Swiss Football Federation is expected to name Hitzfeld's replacement before the end of the year.

Petkovic, who has managed Swiss sides FC Sion and Young Boys, is under contract with Lazio until the end of the season.

"Will I be coaching Switzerland after the World Cup in Brazil? I think I have said everything I have to say already," Petkovic said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

"As I have said recently, I have a contract with Lazio and I want to honour it.

"To think too far ahead is not convenient."

Lazio are ninth in Serie A with just four wins from 14 games.
