Blatter: Walk offs not answer

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has again urged players not to leave the pitch in protest at racial abuse from fans.

Last Updated: 10/01/13 at 10:07 Post Comment

In an interview with Sky Sports News, Blatter praised Kevin-Prince Boateng for leading AC Milan off after being abused during a friendly last week - but he maintains this is not a long-term solution to ending discrimination.

"You remember the Boateng problem, with him running away," said Blatter. "I made a comment on that and I still have the same feeling.

"It is good what he has done, it is good to have this impact - to say look what has happened - but it cannot be a solution.

"You can never solve any problem in your private life or your economic life by running away.

"Listen, it was a warning, if you don't take care of our sport we will do it. It was a warning but it can't be the solution

"We will make a summit with all the players concerning racism and discrimination. Then there must be a lot of solidarity and understanding. We have to eradicate it.

"It can only be done if all the players are participating, and the players are also the spectators."

e'll be fine, no problem. If they do get relegated, he's definitely going to ask how anyone could ever have thought that Villa were going to be fine given their problems before he came.

toke though. Hmn. I don't think it was defending that made people dislike Stoke so much as the out and out cheating/nastiness they regularly displayed. That, and they kept buying the odd flair player and then ruining them (Oh! Tuncay, what were you thinking?).

ell that really inspires me with confidence. No point in training, deciding on a coherent formation, or playing players in their best positions, let's just hope we get lucky.
