Mario Balotelli: Facing old club for first time since his return to Italy

The enigmatic Italian striker returned to the city in January, having left Manchester City for following a two-and-a-half-year spell at the Premier League champions.

Balotelli began his career at Inter before his £20million move to City, having courted controversy at times during his first stint at the San Siro.

The Italian international threw his Inter shirt to the ground after being booed by his own fans in a UEFA Champions League match, and was seen wearing an AC Milan shirt around the city.

"I hope fans will give him a normal welcome," said Galliani.

"We didn't tear him away from Inter, but from Manchester City, so I hope he won't suffer any kind of abuse."

AC Milan are one point and two places ahead of Inter in the Serie A table, and Galliani is wary of their rivals.

"It's a big game, but not decisive," he added Galliani. "Inter are a very good side and are only one point behind us."
