The Italian heavyweights were knocked out of the UEFA Champions in midweek after blowing a two-goal aggregate advantage to lose 4-2 over two legs to Barcelona.

Balotelli was cup-tied against Barca, having moved to Milan in January from Manchester City, and so could not help in what was a disappointing 4-0 second-leg loss at Camp Nou.

But despite Milan also sitting third and 11 points off defending champions Juventus in Serie A, the Italy striker is confident the 2012/13 campaign will be a story of success.

"Our growth was not expected in a single game against Barcelona," said Balotelli - who won the Premier League with City and three Serie A titles with another former club - Inter Milan, on his facebook account.

"But we are looking to (improve in) the future. I have been sure of that since I signed the contract.

"When I move, I do it just to win and it happened in every team I (in which I have) played. We are going to win from the next season."
