The latest player to be spotlighted is Italy's Mattia De Sciglio.

The scout reports...

Mattia De Sciglio came to our attention at the Confederations Cup, but his rise to the Italian squad has been rapid.

His progress has been monumental, and he is now regarded as one of the top young talents in Serie A.

Born in Milan, De Sciglio was brought up a Rossoneri fan and he first began playing with his local church side before joining local side Cimiano aged nine in 2001.

Just 12 months after joining Cimiano, he was spotted by Milan's scouts and was introduced into their youth set-up.

De Sciglio progressed well and was part of the Coppa Italia Primavera-winning side in 2010 - an honour Milan had not won for 25 years.

In the summer of 2011, he was promoted into the senior squad by coach Massimiliano Allegri =and he made his debut that September, playing in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzen. He would not make his league debut until early 2012 when he featured against Chievo.

Later in April he made his Italian Under-21 debut and by the start of the following season he was handed the number two shirt, and was suddenly considered a first-teamer.

By mid-August, four months after his league debut, he was called into the Italian senior squad for the first time, but he did not feature against England.

His debut for Italy came in March 2013 against Brazil, by which point he was a regular for Milan and considered one of the best young defenders in Europe.

De Sciglio was included in Italy's squad for the Confederations Cup this summer and he played in four of their games, which only highlighted the regard he is held in.

De Sciglio has already been labelled as the next Franco Baresi or Paolo Maldini - and many Milan watchers are very excited by the 20-year-old, who is clearly a huge talent.

He has featured mainly as a full-back and, despite being right-footed, is equally capable of playing on the left. At over 6ft, many also believe that he is destined to move into the centre.

An excellent first touch and reading of the game, it is easy to see De Sciglio has arrived from the same production line as Baresi and Maldini. Whilst he is composed, calm and can spot a pass, his main asset is defending.

Solid in the tackle, De Sciglio does not dive in . Despite not yet 21, his maturity on the field is way beyond his years.

It is little surprise that Milan are reportedly ready to hand him a new five-year deal to fend off possible interest.

The scout says...

De Sciglio is a top, top talent. To go from league debut to regular Italian international in less than 18 months is a clear sign of that.

Milan look highly unlikely to let De Sciglio leave, and it seems that they have a future club stalwart on their hands.

terling needs to be told though that upon entering the Arsenal squad he will re-enact the final scene from Highlander where he will be thrown around a warehouse by cartoon dragons and then be a mere mortal that will only ever spend three to four weeks a season playing football and the rest on the physio's bed. There can be only one.....player available at The Emirates.

he game changed in our favour when Carrick came on. We were able to play further up the pitch due to having a player who can give and go with the ball and keep possession. Yet barkley made some runs and Townsend scored a good goal but carrick's inclusion and chiellini's withdrawal made the biggest difference to the flow of the game

o, you've not silenced anyone Andros, i'm afraid. We know you can score a great goal, and it's really handy to have your direct running and willingness to shoot on the bench. But until you can do the other things expected of a winger (beat the man, put a decent cross in, stay wide etc) then you can't expect more than a regular cameo. Wonderful goal though, what a hit! No wonder Buffon wanted the shirt.
