Matias Silvestre: Failed to make much impact in his year at Inter Milan.

The Argentine defender started just six Serie A matches for Inter Milan last season in a loan from Palermo that then saw him join Inter permanently.

However the Rossoneri were looking to bolster their defensive options following a knee injury that ruled out Daniele Bonera for around three months.

Silvestre, 28, had been omitted from Inter's pre-season training squad by new manager Walter Mazzarri and had rejected approaches from Parma and Genoa before Milan offered the former Boca Juniors player a one year loan deal.

"I had hoped for a high level solution, and luckily Milan remembered me. I couldn't hope for more," said Silvestre.

"After I came back from an injury last summer, I tried to force my way through. Then the coach (Mazzarri's predecessor Andrea Stramaccioni) changed the scheme with a three man defence, and the results arrived.

"Everything has been difficult for me, but now I'm serene. Milan play with a four man defence.

"I feel good and looking forward to undergoing tests with Milan."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
