The Rossoneri are 20 points behind league leaders Juventus and are going to find it very difficult just to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday's Group H clash against Celtic in Glasgow, Allegri said to Sky Italia: "I don't see why I should not be on the Milan bench in January.
"I still believe in Milan.
"It's normal that the coach is under scrutiny when results are not positive but you cannot think of what could have been but rather what can be.
"I see no reason why we cannot hit back and climb up in Serie A and reach the knock-out round of the Champions League.
"We cannot forget that there is also the Coppa Italia competition to look forward to."
Milan go into their match against Celtic looking to end a seven-match winless run in all competitions.
The Rossoneri are second in the pool, five points adrift of leaders Barcelona, who have already qualified for the next round.
The Italians are one point clear of Ajax and two points above Celtic with two games remaining.
