Reports suggest Manchester City are keen on the 20-year-old, while Chelsea and Tottenham have also been linked.

Napoli were thought to be chasing the youngster but his agent, Jose Miguel Gonzalez, has played down links with the Serie A club.

However, he has confirmed there is interest from English sides in Obiang, who is contracted at Sampdoria until 2017.

He told calciomercatoit: "There are only rumors about him.

"There was nothing with Napoli, we have not had any meetings and, as far as I know, Sampdoria have not received any concrete offers from any club.

"I know that many teams, including English ones, are interested in the player but he is very good in Genoa and he's happy.

"We have extended the contract for another season and now he has a four-year contract with Sampdoria.

"We'll see what happens in the summer."
