Daniel van Buyten: Open to Monaco move

Van Buyten is out of contract at Bayern this summer and as yet fresh terms have not been agreed with the Belgian international.

A number of clubs have been alerted to Van Buyten's possible availability and cash-rich Monaco are thought to be keen on the centre-back as they plan for life back in Ligue 1 next season.

The 35-year-old enjoyed a successful spell in France with Marseille prior to his arrival in Munich and Van Buyten is open to the possibility of joining Monaco.

"Why not return to France?," he told Telefoot.

"There are interesting options like Monaco."
