Jupp Heynckes: Does not wish to take the advice of his Bayern Munich replacement

Guardiola will take over from Heynckes in the summer at the Allianz Arena after taking a year out of the game. The Spaniard managed Barcelona for four seasons, winning 14 trophies before taking a sabbatical.

However Heynckes, who managed Real Madrid and won the Champions League in his only season in Spain, is confident that he does require the assistance of his replacement.

"Respect me and my work. I have never consulted anyone or asked for advice," Heynckes said.

"I do not need anyone to study an opponent."

Bayern Munich are having their most successful season in their history to date. They have a 20-point lead in the Bundesliga, having wrapped up the title in record time.

They also beat Juventus both home and away in the Champions League quarter-finals, and have won 29 of their last 34 games in all competitions.
