Petersen set for Bremen move

Striker Nils Petersen will almost certainly complete a permanent move from Bayern Munich to Werder Bremen in the summer, according to Bayern scout Egon Coordes.

Nils Petersen: Has been advised to sign for Werder Bremen in the summer

Petersen made a €2.8million (2.4million) move to Bayern from Energie Cottbus in the summer of 2011 but has struggled to command a first team place.

The 24-year-old made just 12 appearances in his first season with the Bavarian giants and was sent out on loan to Bremen last June.

He has enjoyed much more success with Die Werderaner this campaign, with 11 goals in 29 appearances to far.

Despite still having two years left on his Bayern contract it appears unlikely he will return to the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.

Former Hamburg manager Coordes, who is a member of boss Jupp Henyckes' scouting team, believes Petersen would be better off signing a permanent deal at Bremen or risk sitting on the bench again at Bayern next season.

"I am almost able to rule out Nils Petersen returning to Bayern," said Coordes.

"Joining Werder Bremen on loan was the right move for him. It's good for him to be at Werder Bremen.

"You just need to have a look at Bayern's squad. Mario Gomez is a substitute, Claudio Pizarro is also a substitute.

"I feel Nils Petersen does not need to be another substitute."

ove it when Jose accuses others of being defensive, cynical and playing to win. If I was Wenger, I'd get that quote laminated and framed - surely the biggest compliment he's ever received from Mourinho. You've got him riled Arsene - you're relevant again!

t's wrong to be making a joke out of Bender's name at the expense of gay people. It's the kind of childish, uncivilised thing that Football365 would deride and ridicule if it was another media outlet saying. Why is there a need for jokes like this? Does it make your writers feel like men? F365 might suggest that I 'lighten up', but it is genuinely traumatic for people who have been oppressed all their lives to be the butt of jokes, and to be told...

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
