Pep Guardiola's men host Nurnberg on Saturday looking for a third straight Bundesliga win this campaign and a new club record of 28 games unbeaten in the league is also up for grabs.

Bayern boast an impressive recent record against Nurnberg, winning 13 of their last 22 meetings with their neighbours while losing just once, and Muller is keen to continue that success.

"We've generally done well at home to Nurnberg and we obviously want that to continue," he said on his club's website.

"Nurnberg are good in the air and put you under a lot of pressure and we're going to have to resist that, but technically and tactically we're superior to them.

"We've just got to show that on the field."

Mario Gotze hopes to help in that undertaking by making his Bayern debut this weekend following his summer move from Borussia Dortmund.

"I'm feeling better by the day and of course it will still take a bit of time before I find my rhythm, but I hope I start getting more time on the pitch," he said.

Bayern are also in league action next Tuesday with their trip to Freiburg brought forward due to the upcoming European Supercup against Chelsea, and that will give them the opportunity to move clear at the top of the table.

Dortmund get a chance of their own to take a three-point advantage tomorrow night when they host Werder Bremen, who also boast a 100 per cent record so far.

"We are hungry to win it, but we know everything has got to come together tomorrow," said Bremen coach Robin Dutt.

"Dortmund are a different calibre, but I would not say no to another 1-0 win."

Bayer Leverkusen and Mainz also have perfect records to defend against Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg respectively, although their opponents both picked up big wins last weekend.

At the bottom of the table, the Eintrachts of Braunschweig and Frankfurt go in search of their first points of the campaign while Augsburg and Stuttgart also look to get their seasons up and running on the same day.

Freiburg, who also have no points yet, travel to high-flying Hoffenheim on Saturday.

Finally, Schalke will look to recover from a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to PAOK in the Champions League yesterday when they travel to Hannover and Hamburg are under pressure for their trip to the capital to face Hertha Berlin.

I

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

I

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.

'Tactically Inept And Lacking In Belief And Style'

It's fair to say that the 'Moyes Out' brigade is understandably out in force, whilst there are also staunch defences of Mourinho and Arteta. Plus, Liverpool fans can almost taste it.

That's Why We Didn't Want Jose At United

There is plenty of reaction to Mourinho's antics (Isn't that exactly what he wanted?) plus thoughts on Connor Wickham, Fabio Borini, beach balls and Tim Sherwood...
