Stefan Reinartz: Aiming for victory this weekend

This time Leverkusen enjoy the home advantage and midfielder Stefan Reinartz would have nothing against registering the same result as a year ago to prove that his club are also in the title race.

"This game comes at a very, very good time for us," he said. "Saturday provides us with a chance to see whether the tendency will be for us to look over our shoulders, or whether we can look forward to sustaining a three-horse race."

Both sides were victorious in the Champions League on Wednesday night with Leverkusen beating Real Sociedad 2-1 while Bayern cantered to a 3-1 win at Manchester City.

Current league leaders Borussia Dortmund were also involved in the Champions League, winning 3-0 at home to Marseille while also having an extra day to prepare their trip to Borussia Monchengladbach for a game visiting forward Raffael is particularly looking forward to.

"They are one of the best sides in the world and for me personally it's also important to play against such a team," he told his club's website.

"Everybody wants to play against sides like Dortmund. I think anything is possible in football.

"As far as we're concerned, we're working hard on playing a good season."

They are succeeding to a certain extent after taking three wins from three on home soil, a record they will look to extend on Saturday in view of an away record which reads one draw and three defeats.

Hannover have an even better home record with four wins out of four, yet their record on their travels reads three losses out of three.

That is why they will be happy to host Hertha Berlin at the Niedersachsenstadion on Friday night with the chance to reduce the arrears on third-placed Leverkusen to three points.

Elsewhere this weekend, Schalke look to build on a 1-0 Champions League win over Basle on Tuesday when they host Augsburg, while Stuttgart's recent resurgence can gather pace with a win at home to Werder Bremen.

Wolfsburg and Eintracht Braunschweig meet in a Lower Saxony derby while Mainz and Hoffenheim lock horns at the Coface Arena.

On Sunday, Europa League contenders Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt go head-to-head in the Bundesliga with strugglers Nurnberg and Hamburg also meeting.

t's a bloody good goal, though. Sh!t, the kid's gonna be the worlds best before we know it, isn't he? He's got the touch of genius in him. Like Neymar, but with muscles and stuff. He's doing a Ronaldo as we watch. He's bulked up to be able to ride the tackles, but he's improved technically as well. His touch is sublime. Bugger.
