Bayern Munich: Hoping to celebrate Bundesliga title glory

Should Borussia Dortmund fail to win in Stuttgart on Saturday and Bayern beat Hamburg later that evening, then the record German champions would add another crown to their collection.

But, whatever the outcome, there will be no particular celebrations at the Allianz Arena.

Instead, Bayern will receive the title on the penultimate day of the season after their final home match against Augsburg, because, between now and then, they have more pressing business.

"We've got to ensure we bring the league campaign to a decent conclusion, but our main focus is on the Champions League," said club president Uli Hoeness.

"We want to win the Champions League. We are hungry for this title - famished for it even."

Dortmund could also be forgiven for being distracted as they too turn their focus to a Champions League quarter-final tie, with Malaga next week, and that could provide Stuttgart with the chance for a rare away victory.

"We are ready," coach Bruno Labbadia told Kicker magazine.

Stuttgart's current priority is to put further distance between themselves and the relegation zone with just eight points separating them from the drop zone with eight games of the season remaining.

The gap is even smaller for Fortuna Dusseldorf, who host Bayer Leverkusen in a local derby with just five points between them and a resurgent Augsburg, who host Hannover.

Hoffenheim and Greuther Furth are further adrift and they may be forced to start planning for life in the second division should they lose to Schalke and Eintracht Frankfurt respectively.

Back at the top of the table, the race for places in Europe intensifies with surprise package Freiburg hosting Borussia Monchengladbach and Mainz hosting struggling Werder Bremen.

Finally, Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking faces his former club Nurnberg on Sunday afternoon.

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.

s for City, can't believe you omitted Sergio. He's both dreamy and lovable rolled into one humble genius. Kolarov, we've all played with a mad cap left back who simply loves two things, shooting and tackling. To leave out Martin Demichellis, shame on you.
