Ilkay Gundogan: No news to announce yet on contract talks

The 22-year-old is under contract with his present side until June 2015, although he was linked with Arsenal in the recent transfer window.

Dortmund are trying hard to agree a new contract with the midfielder, who was a central figure in their 2011-12 Bundesliga triumph, and Gundogan confirmed discussions are continuing.

He told Ruhr Nachrichten newspaper: "There is nothing new to comment on, those talks and negotiations are actually on-going. If we had anything to announce, we would reveal it.

"I am not going to make statements on the contents of those talks. Everyone has to be patient about it, just like I have to be patient in terms of my current injury."

Gundogan has not played since being substituted in Germany's 3-3 draw with Paraguay on August 14 when his back injury flared up.
