Reus ready for grand stage

Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus has described reaching the UEFA Champions League final as the 'biggest moment' of his career to date.

The lively playmaker will be an integral part of his club's hopes of defeating German rivals Bayern at Wembley on Saturday, particularly with Mario Gotze ruled out through injury.

And 23-year-old Reus, a 2012 signing from Borussia Monchengladbach, is fully aware of the size of the occasion as Dortmund bid to win their first Champions League final since 1997.

Reus, who will debut PUMA's latest colourway of the PowerCat 1 FG football boot at Wembley on Saturday, said: "Reaching the Champions League final is the biggest moment of my career so far and I cannot wait to walk out on this great football stage at the weekend.

"My first season at Borussia Dortmund with the whole Champions League tournament has been extremely exciting and going to Wembley is really an absolute highlight for me."

Bayern Munich centre-back Dante will be one man who is out to stop his former Borussia Monchengladbach team-mate, Reus, and the Brazilian represents a formidable barrier.

The defender has been a revelation since joining Bayern from Monchengladbach last summer in a bargain deal of £4.5million and he hopes his dream experience continues.

Dante, who will be wearing the latest colourway of PUMA's iconic King boot, said: "My first season with Bayern Munich has been an unbelievable experience and I am so excited to be part of the team that travels to London for the Champions League final.

"For me, this is a wonderful opportunity and playing in the final of such an important tournament is probably every footballer's dream."

may well get slated by other United fans for this, but out of the three contenders, I'd far prefer Liverpool to win the title. Yes some elements of their fanbase can be a bit OTT, yes they're our biggest rivals and yes it will make our poor season feel even more like the end of an era (Fergie's gone, Liverpool are back on top). However I just have to applaud Brendan Rodgers and the way he's turned Liverpool around in just a couple of seasons. It...

ooray! We are all excited now, we beat a very mediocre team! With all due respect to WHU supporters, not winning that game shouldn't even be a consideration. This is the problem, there is no winning mentality at the Emirates - we're all congratulating ourselves beating a team that we have a winning record against.

I

s this meant to be an aspiration for United supporters? Moyes mediocrity strikes again. I see the Bayern boys don't want to sign for him, and his reputation amongst the senior European coaches make other key signings unlikely.
