Aaron Ramsey: Would welcome 'one or two' fresh faces at the Emirates

The in-form midfielder helped the Gunners progress to the UEFA Champions League group stage on Tuesday, with his brace in a return date with Fenerbahce at Emirates Stadium seeing Arsene Wenger's side prevail 5-0 on aggregate.

With a place in Thursday evening's draw safely secured, Wenger is expected to step up his efforts to bring fresh faces into his ranks.

It could be a busy few days in north London, with the summer window due to close at 11pm on Monday evening, and Ramsey admits new additions at Arsenal would be welcome as increased squad depth would make it easier for them to challenge on multiple fronts.

He said in The Sun: "We have a lot of quality in the team, even if we are short of numbers.

"Maybe that's what teams like Manchester City and Man United have done over the last few years as they can rotate. Maybe we are a bit short on that.

"But we have a lot of quality and hopefully one or two additions will strengthen us and mean that we are able to rotate."

After an opening day disappointment against Aston Villa in the Premier League, Arsenal have moved quickly through the gears and Ramsey feels a return to form as a collective has helped him to raise his standards individually - with the Welshman back to the levels he was showing before suffering a badly broken leg in 2010.

He added: "I am enjoying myself out there and confident at the moment. After the injury I had, it takes a bit of time to get over it mentally.

"That's behind me now and I think I am showing people what I can do."

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
