Wonderful Widnes

Widnes produced a miracle by beating Warrington with one man down, Terry O'Connor told Sky Sports News in his Super League round-up.

Warrington Wolves 6-16 Widnes Vikings (Read report here)

This was the biggest result of the season - certainly for Widnes. No one was expecting this result. Warrington are fighting in second place for the top of the table and Widnes went into the game on the back of conceding 110 points in two games.

It's the first time Warrington have failed to score more than one try. Widnes were absolutely exceptional and with a man down as well after Hep Cahill's red card. Jack Owens was great with 12 points in the game and there's Joe Mellor who's an immense talent.

Their coach Denis Betts looked so excited and even he couldn't have expected to have got the two points.

London Broncos 12-26 Huddersfield Giants (Read report here)

Huddersfield look favourites this season in Super League. They have been the most consistent all year with Danny Brough pulling all the strings. They do have some exceptional players but you'd like to think London Broncos would play like this more often.

They had a real go in what was a ferocious game. I would have thought Broncos head coach Tony Rae would love to see this kind of battle all the time. There was a lot of energy.

This was the top side against the bottom and the Giants were pushed all the way - they were only 12-8 up going into the last side five minutes. It was a really good effort.

Catalan Dragons 22-8 Wigan Warriors (Read report here)

Wigan coach Shaun Wane would have liked to have gone to Wembley for the Challenge Cup final with a win under their belt but Catalan were totally dominant with their offloads and Wigan just couldn't control them.

Why don't Catalan play like this every time they go on the pitch? Catalan's Brent Webb lifts the side to a different dimension.

Hull FC 18-13 Salford City Reds (Read report here)

This was a good win for Hull FC but it's getting difficult for them with more injuries to players like Tom Lineham and Ben Crooks and with a Challenge Cup final ahead of them.

They are starting to lose key players who defend out wide but this was an improvement from Hull FC to come back and win the game.

It shows character and guts and is everything you need from a rugby league side to come back and win.

Leeds Rhinos 12-16 Hull KR (Read report here)

Well played, Hull KR! They just worked hard and all on the back of being on the end of some calls going against them. Kallum Watkins scored twice but it was the kicking of Michael Dobson that was the difference.

Kevin Sinfield was putting the kicks in and was superb but beating a team with him shows what an exceptional side Hull KR are.

Near the end, Sinfield had a chance to level the scores but he dropped the ball near the line and Leeds lost the contest. Hull deserved to win though.

Castleford Tigers 46-34 Bradford Bulls (Read report here)

It was always going to be difficult for Bradford against Castleford at home.

Rangi Chase was excellent again with one try and set up five others and he's been linked with a move to Salford.

The Bulls pushed them really close but it means they will miss out on a top eight spot for a fifth year in a row.

Wakefield Wildcats 12-26 St Helens (Read report here)

This was a fifth straight win for St Helens and they could well be the finalists.

Jon Wilkin is a huge talent and has a lot of weight on his shoulders but they also have a lot of fine youngsters.

Wakefield put on a good show, though, with Reece Lyne impressing. He was discarded by Hull FC and head coach Richard Agar has given these players a chance.

St Helens had too much power and skill but were made to work very hard against a battling Wakefield side.

terling needs to be told though that upon entering the Arsenal squad he will re-enact the final scene from Highlander where he will be thrown around a warehouse by cartoon dragons and then be a mere mortal that will only ever spend three to four weeks a season playing football and the rest on the physio's bed. There can be only one.....player available at The Emirates.

he game changed in our favour when Carrick came on. We were able to play further up the pitch due to having a player who can give and go with the ball and keep possession. Yet barkley made some runs and Townsend scored a good goal but carrick's inclusion and chiellini's withdrawal made the biggest difference to the flow of the game

o, you've not silenced anyone Andros, i'm afraid. We know you can score a great goal, and it's really handy to have your direct running and willingness to shoot on the bench. But until you can do the other things expected of a winger (beat the man, put a decent cross in, stay wide etc) then you can't expect more than a regular cameo. Wonderful goal though, what a hit! No wonder Buffon wanted the shirt.
