Scott Parker: Retains England hope

Parker has missed most of the season through injury, but has recently returned to full fitness and is now back in the Spurs starting line-up.

However, despite feature in recent weeks for Andre Villas-Boas's side - he was left out by Roy Hodgson for the friendly with Brazil on Wednesday.

"I am proud to represent my country, but I say the same thing every time, it is going to be difficult because in this country we have an abundance of midfield players.

"They are very good players, but I always say to myself, work hard, keep my form, play as well as I can and the rest will take care of itself.

"I just love to be involved with England."
