Rio Ferdinand: Still refuses to give up on England despite another snub

Once again the 34-year-old veteran was overlooked by the England boss for the friendly with Brazil, but Ferdinand insists he will not dwell on the rebuff, and is more than happy to fully commit to United's title charge.

"I'm not sitting there thinking about trying to get back into the England team," he told the Manchester Evening News.

"I'm just playing football for Manchester United. That's what I love doing and that is what's at the forefront of my mind."

With 81 caps to his name, and a still a regular starter for the league leaders of the Premier League, many have questioned the England boss' decision to continually overlook the experienced defender.

However, despite seemingly being at the back of Hodgson's mind, Ferdinand still has no plans to retire from the international fold.

"If that, in time, it ends up in me getting a call-up for England, then great and fantastic. If it doesn't, I won't really lose any sleep over it," he added.
