David Beckham: Believes he could still play for England

The 37-year-old midfielder was last involved for England in March 2010 when he was an unused substitute against Egypt at Wembley.

With 115 caps already to his name, Beckham has always said he would never retire from international duty and now, after some impressive displays for Paris Saint Germain, he has been linked with a recall.

He told CNN World Sport: "One of the reasons why I've never retired from the England team is because if there's ever an opportunity to play for them again, then I'm available.

"If there is any chance of me ever playing for my country again, I would never turn that down. Like I said, I'm almost 38 years old so the chances are very slight, but you never know."

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid man has played mainly cameo roles for PSG since joining at the end of January, following his spell in the United States with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is set to open talks with Beckham about extending his stay.

Al-Khelaifi said "We are going to talk with him about it. But frankly, we really want to keep him with us next season.

"He's fantastic, on and off the pitch. Signing David has been one of my best decisions.

"He's an outstanding person, as a player, as an ambassador. He has really made an impact in this squad. Everybody loves him."

e made his power play to try and get Sheikhy to raise his wages or trade him to PSG. PSG were probably not interested and he is stuck with no cake and no vacation. @Jay_D> Surely you jest about FFP being real, right? All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
