The Three Lions have not had things all their own way en route to Brazil, with points dropped against Montenegro, Poland and Ukraine.

They are, however, just two points off the pace in Group H with a game in hand.

Four fixtures remain in their qualification campaign, and three of them will be staged at Wembley.

England's fate remains very much in their own hands and Hodgson is confident he can guide his troops over the line and to another appearance at a major international tournament.

He told Sky Sports News: "Yes, I'm confident.

"We have got four matches. Obviously they are all important matches, but three of them are at home and we have got the capacity to beat all of the teams that we are going to play.

"I'm very, very confident that we will make it."

e're our own worst enemy. We're suicidal in defence, and we may just get slaughtered on Sunday. Other than that, I am very pleased with my team.
