Andre Schurrle: Says there will be no complacency when Germany face England

Roy Hodgson is expected to select his best available XI after experimenting with a few different players for Friday's 2-0 defeat by Chile, while Joachim Low is set to be without some of his key men following a 1-1 draw with Italy.

Mesut Ozil, Philipp Lahm and Manuel Neuer all withdrew of the Germany squad on Sunday morning, while Sami Khedira is out after rupturing knee ligaments.

Chelsea winger Schurrle insists there is enough depth in the German squad to cope with the changes, but is wary of the threat posed by England.

Asked if Germany would be taking England lightly by not fielding a full-strength side, Schurrle told Sky Sports News: "No. We have much respect for the England team.

"They have good young players and so we will take it seriously. We want to win and I think we have many good players here so we have the team to win."

Questioned on which England players he had particular admiration for, Schurrle took the opportunity to deny newspaper reports quoting him as saying that Rooney would struggle to get in Germany's team.

"Rooney is a great player. Everyone knows he is a world-class player and one of the best in the world," said the Chelsea man.

"They have many good players, young players like (Jack) Wilshere, and (Frank) Lampard, Ashley Cole and Gary Cahill from my team.

"They have a good team and really good names.

"It is a friendly but both sides want to win and it is a good match that I am really looking forward to."

ood lord that's got me unnecessarily excited. Damn you Storey. Cut to Liverpool being crushed under the wheels of Sparky's Stoke Machine and Firmino brought off the bench to no effect. It's the hope that kills you.

think he'll do quite well. My only reservation would be Kagawa, who had similar stats to Firmino in the bundesliga before he came, but time will tell.
