Kris Boyd: Kilmarnock striker targeting Scotland recall

The striker is back at his former club and aiming to reclaim the form that saw him become the SPL's record goalscorer while at Rangers.

Boyd has not featured for Scotland since a 2-1 win over Liechtenstein in September 2010, but he insists he still has plenty to offer his country.

The 29-year-old said: "I need to get back playing here at Kilmarnock and scoring goals.

"Gordon has said in the last couple of days that he wants to mix experience with youth. Hopefully I'm in that age group between 28 and 32 and I am experienced enough.

"I've tasted it, I've played with Scotland on numerous occasions and scored goals at that level. I know I can do it.

"It's a matter of getting myself fit again. You don't lose anything you've got ability-wise, it's just working on the fitness.

"Between now and the end of the season, hopefully I can get the games and start scoring goals regularly again."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
